Our Board of Directors

Image

The Board of Directors at Gentle Shepherd MCC is instrumental in assisting the Pastor with the everyday operations of the church, as well as helping to guide the church in the direction it feels God is leading. The Board currently consists of the Pastor, three members plus one member for each 100 church members.

Vice-Moderator

Jay As Vice-Moderator of the Board, Jay serves as Moderator in the absence of the Pastor and assists the Pastor in a multitude of ways, most of which are never seen by the congregation. This assistance includes: providing wise advice and counsel to the Pastor, assisting with planning and leading special events, serving on the Pastor’s Care Team, and so much more. His God-given gift of wisdom and close walk with Jesus are indispensable tools he uses to help lead our church in the direction God would have us go. Treasurer

Donna Our Treasurer for the church is Donna. She began a two year term succeeding Travis in January, 2010. She is the chief fiscal officer for the church, managing all aspects of the church's finances and making sure the bills get paid. You can reach her by email at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Clerk

Carolyn The position of Church Clerk requires a responsible individual who possesses a keen attention to detail, and Carolyn has graciously accepted this responsibility. Her duties include taking minutes during Board meetings and handling any correspondence between the church and outside entities. Carolyn is grateful to be chosen and considers it an honor to be able to serve God and her church in this capacity. She and her partner of 26 years, Winnie, are retired; allowing them to devote extra time to church needs; for this we are most grateful. If you need to contact her, she can be reached at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Member At-Large

Gary As Member At-Large, Gary serves as a liaison between the church members and the Board. If you have a concern that you would like to see brought before the Board, but you’d rather not present the concern yourself, Gary is the person to go to. He takes his job of representing you before the Board very seriously. Gary and his partner Phillip are valuable assets to the health of Gentle Shepherd MCC and we thank God for them. Joe works for the State of Florida and has been a member of Gentle Shepherd MCC for over 10 years. He has served previously on our Board as Vice Moderator, Lay Delegate, and Clerk. Alternate Lay Delegate

In the event that the Lay Delegate is unable to attend a Regional or General Conference, she will represent our church at that conference. If the Lay Delegate is unable to fill the entire term of office, then Denise will step in and fill that position for the remainder of the term. She is a dedicated member of GSMCC, as she also participates in Praise Team and our Children’s Ministry. Thanks for all you do, Denise!
